Dr. Shubert received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, his PsyD in clinical psychology from California School of Professional Psychology, and his PhD in psychoanalysis from The New Center for Psychoanalysis. Dr. Shubert has practiced psychotherapy in a variety of settings including The LA LGBT Center, Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, and private practice in the Silver Lake / Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, where he has seen patients for over fifteen years.  He has presented nationally and internationally in venues ranging from the American Psychoanalytic Association and Div 39 of the American Psychological Association to The Santa Monica Public Library on varied topics such as neuroscience and gender & sexuality.

Dr. Shubert is the founder of Silver Lake Psychotherapy, a psychotherapy group practice on the east side of Los Angeles. He is a co-founding member of the Committee on Diversities and Sociocultural Issues at the New Center for Psychoanalysis, the past Diversity Editor of The American Psychoanalyst, and the former chair of the American Psychoanalytic Association’s Committee on Gender and Sexuality.

Justin Shubert, PsyD, PhD, is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist by the California State Board of Psychology (PSY-23766).
